The Opportunity:
Kandji is a fast-paced, dynamic, and rapidly growing SAAS company that helps companies effortlessly manage Apple devices across their entire organization. We are expanding our FP&A team to help Kandji to continue to grow and scale the R&D organization, with a focus on managing our Cloud Hosting spend, COGS, and Gross Margin performance.This role will provide you with excellent FP&A experience managing a SAAS business model and offers the ability to grow as you gain experience and expand your capabilities as an FP&A professional.
Working with the Director of FP&A, the Finance Manager will provide valuable insights and support to leaders and executives in the R&D organization and help Kandji achieve specific R&D and Gross Margin goals. Kandji’s R&D organization is responsible for building and maintaining Kanjdi’s products, Cloud Hosting (AWS), infrastructure, and supporting customers. You will have the opportunity to build and own detailed models supporting our expanding R&D organization, and will manage the Cloud Hosting spend in particular. You will work directly with R&D leaders and executives and will be a crucial player to help drive strategic initiatives and decisions by delivering thorough and relevant analyses and recommendations. You will be a key person helping the R&D team to hit critical goals. The role also owns FP&A responsibilities including modeling, forecasting, variance analysis, strategic insight, and ad-hoc analysis
What You'll Be Doing
- Build and maintain a detailed Cloud Hosting costs model (AWS, Azure, GCP) to forecast costs by individual Cloud Hosting service items, by customer, and by cost drivers.
- Measure cloud spend effectiveness and efficiency, and identify opportunities for optimizations and cost reductions.
- Partner with R&D / Engineering teams to implement Cloud Hosting efficiency optimization projects to drive down Cloud Hosting costs.
- Compare Cloud Hosting and other COGS items vs industry benchmarks, set internal targets for COGS and Gross Margin, and measure performance against targets.
- Analyze Cloud Hosting costs each month, explain cost drivers and trends and prepare recommendations for the leadership team and R&D leaders to execute to optimize spend.
- Finance business partnering and support for leaders and executives in the R&D organization.
- Build and maintain robust driver-based forecasting models; analyze financial data and create financial models for decision support.
- Perform insightful variance analysis versus budget, forecast and prior year; analyze past results, perform variance analysis, identify trends.
- Help develop and implement new FP&A processes and analyses to add value for all stakeholders.
- Help with month-end close activities and related rhythm of business processes.
- Work closely with the accounting team to ensure accurate financial reporting.
The Ideal Candidate will Bring
- Experience working in Financial Planning Software like Adaptive Insights, Analplan, Vena and other BI Tools.
- Experience with SQL and /or BI tools like Tableau, Domo, PowerBI or other BI / Visualization platforms.
- Experience analyzing and forecasting Cloud Hosting (AWS, Azure, GCP) in a SAAS company.
- Experience building or updating complex financial models and other business models.
- Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, economics or other technical field.
- Highly proficient in Excel or Google Sheets, competent in Index Match, embedded If statements, pivot tables, named ranges, etc.
- Must be highly self -motivated, result-driven & sense of delivery.
- Experience preparing and presenting analyses reports to leaders in finance and other organizations.
- 5+ years FP&A experience, preferably in B2B SaaS or fast growing startup environment.
- Should have curiosity to learn the SAAS business model and the drive to find and implement ways to improve Kandji’s financial performance.
- Good verbal and written communication skills, and the ability to use excel and other softwares to tell the financial story.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines at the same time, and be able to adjust to changing priorities.
- Critical thinking and problem solving in addition to intense focus on details.
