The latest iteration of the Home Screen Layout Library Item contains multiple updates, including support for configuring multiple pages, refinements to Dock management, and the ability to drag and drop multiple apps at once.

  • You can now manage up to 11 pages in a given Home Screen layout, moving apps between those pages to create the exact layout you want in each.

  • Dock management has been adjusted to allow for up to 12 apps on iPad. The Dock layout now displays the unremovable iPadOS App Library icon, to match the on-device experience.

  • The Journal app has been added to the System App list for iPhone.

  • You can now select multiple apps and drag and drop them between the app list, preview area, and the Dock.

  • Finally, the Install on device-family selector has been added to the top section of the Library Item.

The Home Screen Layout Library Item was initially launched in Preview, allowing users to start using the feature immediately. We have subsequently added new features quickly, such as managing the Dock and (now) multiple pages. Next up are app folders and then exiting from Preview to General Availability (GA).
