Remediation is the process of enforcing security controls that previously failed to work. For instance, if an IT team assigns a control to company devices that locks the screen after two minutes, they still need a way to make sure that the control worked. If the screens don't lock in time or a user alters the setting, IT needs a way to identify and remediate it. Many mobile device management (MDM) solutions don't include remediation, meaning hundreds of remediation scripts have to be written manually. Using an MDM solution with remediation is key to maximizing device security.
